COPPA Compliance
Our district utilizes many online tools, computer software applications, and web-based services provided by third parties to supplement the education of our children. In order for our students to use these programs and services, there are times when a service provider might request student information, such as the student’s name, a username, a password, or an email address if applicable.
Under federal law entitled the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), these apps and web service companies must provide notification to you and obtain your consent before collecting personal information from children under the age of 13. The law permits your school district to act as the parent’s agent and can consent on the parent’s behalf. We must provide you with a list of programs we may use throughout the school year as well as privacy policies for each app. For more information on COPPA, please visit the Federal Trade Commission's website.
Below is a list of the programs with the link to their privacy policies for students of any age at Coudersport Area School District.
